Privacy policy

In short

This website does not set any cookies and does not use any tracking. Fonts, images and all other files come from our own web server. The only exception is the map on the contact page, and it only loads if you want it to.

When you visit this website

To display this page, your browser connects to our server. For technical reasons the server learns your IP address in the process. We only use it to send you the page and do not store it. We do not keep access logs. The website runs on our own server in Germany; no hosting provider is involved. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Light/dark switch and language

At the top of every page you can switch between a light and a dark design and between German and English. So that the page appears the way you chose on your next visit, your browser remembers your choice: one word each, for example “dark” or “en”.

This is not a cookie. A cookie is sent to the server with every page request. These entries, by contrast, stay in your browser on your device and are never transmitted to us or anyone else. They are only created when you click one of the switches yourself. If you have not chosen a language, the page checks your browser's language setting, again only on your device. You can delete the entries at any time by clearing the stored data for this website in your browser.

OpenStreetMap map

On the contact page you can display a map. It is only loaded once you click “Load map”. Your browser then connects to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom), which thereby learns your IP address. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). More information can be found in the OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy.

Contact by phone or email

If you call or write to us, we only use your details to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare your stay (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We then delete them unless we are legally required to keep them.

Your rights

You can request information about your data and have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You can also object to the processing and withdraw your consent at any time. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; in Saxony this is the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner (Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte).
